Last night’s table quiz at Arena 7 drew large numbers of teams and the quizmaster, ably assisted by Cormac and Sally, challenged them in style.
The quiz, with five 20-question sessions, deepened the furrows in many a brow and had participants’ memory cogs grinding loudly. The questions were fair with widely diverse subject matter and the only horse who got a look in on the night was Shergar.
By the end of it all, Ruth and Rachael’s team finished top of the club pile in second place but it was the aptly named “In First Place” — a horse-free team with a strong Ramelton profile — that led from start to finish.
The night raised a magnificent €900 for our Relay for Life fund. Thanks to all our own members who took part, to our very supportive friends in the East Donegal Pony Club, and to the various completely non-equestrian participants who turned up to support the event. Thanks too to quizmaster Hugh McClafferty, scorer Sally, and the biggest thanks of all to Cormac who put so much effort into the entire event.
