Roisin McGee of the Gaeltachts has once more done her sums in super-quick time and we can already see the results from yesterday’s second leg of the North West League. While our senior riders performed most successfully at the opening leg of the league, this time it was the turn of our Primary, Advanced Primary and Intermediate riders to shine.
We’ve already heard how Tommy stole the Intermediate show on Armstrong and noted how Enda and Liz filled the top two slots in the Primary class. But in a league of his own comes Keary who won the AP class on Anne’s lovely mare, Kiltown Miss Molly. Keary has been keeping his own horse, Captain Clover Joe, to the hunting field this winter but Molly proved an able show jumping substitute. Most people were aware that Keary had borrowed Anne’s horse. What they mightn’t have known was that he had also borrowed her lucky britches, completing his double-clear round at double-quick tempo so that he could dismount rapidly, relieve the pressure, and hand them back to her in time for her Intermediate class!
Well done everybody.
