Donegal Clubs meeting makes progress on all fronts

Tuesday evening’s meeting of the three Donegal clubs was a productive and pleasant affair. Plans are now firmly in place for the 3-leg Autumn Mini-League which will run in the same format as the North West League, albeit with double points for the final. That should spice things up somewhat and we’ll use the autumnContinue reading “Donegal Clubs meeting makes progress on all fronts”

Gradual build-up to autumn mini-league begins this week

With under six weeks to the beginning of our new Autumn Mini-League, it’s time to work on both organisation and equitation to ensure that the event is a success. Tuesday evening sees another meeting of the Donegal Division, the collaboration between the three Donegal AIRC clubs. Jumping lessons with Richard Smyth

Next weeks sees the beginning of a short series of Friday evening jumping lessons with Richard Smyth at his yard at Victoria Bridge, between Strabane and Newtownstewart. The Beach Show stays (almost) dry as God spares the Gaeltacht

This weekend saw the second attempt at the 2012 Beach Show and, just like our Stranorlar ride-out, the Gaeltacht’s luck held when it really mattered. We forgot to mention it on the schedule but the deal from last year’s Derby still stands for 2012! You can enter the individual Derby, the Pairs, and the Dressage for a total €30. The weather forecast is holding fair and it looks like we’ll get away with light rain showers at the worst. There’sContinue reading “Three-for-two deal on derby day entries”

Clear round jumping, Templemore, Friday 13 July

There’s little chance of getting near a blade of grass for jumping this week so Francis has organised a clear round jumping session for Templemore this Friday evening. There are plenty of ring-rusty horses and riders in the club after a prolonged spell of jump-less activity so this will provide an ideal opportunity to knockContinue reading “Clear round jumping, Templemore, Friday 13 July”

Countdown to the Derby begins

Last Friday evening’s sociable meeting to plan for our derby show on Sunday 22 July was productive and enjoyable. Gathering first at Conways, John worked his way through a lengthy list of tasks and responsibilities until just about every detail of this major operation had been discussed and delegated. Jobs were delegated to members whoContinue reading “Countdown to the Derby begins”
